Spiritual & Emotional Maturity Discussion

Apr 25, 2026    Bryan Sawchuk

Session 1: Introduction to Spiritual & Emotional Maturity

Facilitated by Rev. Bryan Sawchuk · Based on the work of Rev. Toni G. Boehm, Ph.D.

Today's Journey:

What SEM Is NOT — Clearing the ground first. SEM is not pretending nothing's happening, suppressing emotions, performing peace, having all the answers, or a destination you arrive at.

Awake vs. Mature — The Core Distinction — Being spiritually awake means you've received new knowledge (the retreat, the book, the shift). Being spiritually mature means you've grown through the practical application of that knowledge — especially under pressure. "Awakening is the door — not the room."

Dimensions & Energy — Why 3D vs. 4D Matters — The shift from 3rd-dimensional survival consciousness (fear, scarcity, "life happens TO me") to 4th-dimensional being (trust, expansion, "life is created BY me").

Meaning-Making — The Stories That Run Us — An event happens, the adverse ego attaches a story to it, and we treat that story as truth. That story then drives our emotional reaction and behavior — cellularly, biologically, spiritually, aurically, and universally.

Self-Regulation — The Gap Between Trigger and Choice — The heart of the practice: Notice → Pause → Breathe → Choose. The guiding question: "What is more interesting to me than reacting right now?"

Your Month-1 Practice — Choose one person, situation, or pattern that consistently activates you. For 30 days, when it activates you: pause, notice the story/reaction/body sensation, touch your heart, breathe, and journal one observation each evening. No judgment — just noticing.

Session closes with the guiding question for the year: "What am I noticing within me?" — and a reminder: no guilt, no shame, no blame.
